A Biography Of A Female Bodybuilder

Book Reviews :

Hello Sylvia,

I have just received your book 'Selina Mae Steel' and I enjoyed it very much. I am wondering if you would be open to me writing a book review? Overall, I would recommend the book to anyone interested in female bodybuilding and of course to all of Sylvia's fans. The experiences of family violence, sexual exploitation and corruption in the bodybuilding world, reminded me of the importance of treating women and especially female bodybuilders with deep respect and support.

Actual Book's Appearance
I just finished Sylvia's book "Selina Mae Steele". It had me laughing at times yet sometimes totally appalled. Selina's story was straight forward and not clouded by excessive metaphors. It was adventurous yet tragic at times. As I read, Selina's appetite for love excited me as

wanted be one of her suitors. It gave me an inside look at the ugly side of sports politics. Selina is so in tune with her physiology she seemed to born a bodybuilder. Serious and wise she saved the lives of her security team. Yet so funny and playful she experienced fantasies that most of us only dream about. If you are a fan of Sylvia's or fan of female bodybuilding you should check out this book.

This book truly gives a unique view of the FBB (Female Bodybuilding) world for not one or two but three perspectives.

It goes into the inside of the FBB world and try to feel and see what it is like, both as a female bodybuilder and as a female bodybuilding within a cultural structure where in every way and in true terms, it is not accepted. Here, in the US we can go to a gym and see and accept those who choose to move forward and develop their body to the fullest female or male but in some cultures that is all but taboo for the woman. This is changing in TODAY but some had to pave the way ...

Not only did she reach a true height of competing but completed outside her home world and did very well. She talks about what it is like for those on the inside and what goes on a true inside view.

Later, the book chronicles how once she started to move within the FBB circle that her choices and options within that as a FBB were limited and she had to make hard family choices to maintain things. This moved to the next phase once she has such a developed body what and how does she provide for her and her family. Choices had to be made hard difficult gut wrenching choices that for most people we will never face so we would not fully understand.

Later, as she moves outside the inner circle of FBB she looks back at things and can take an outside view of how the world of the FBB is and what one must do to be there and what one must do to stay there ...

In FBB, the training needed to just maintain is so far beyond that of the male BB. For the FBB is it a truly full time commitment and being above lot maintain that required her to make choices and do things that will draw you into her world and make you want to read page after page ...

I would like to comment about the novel "Selina Steele, the story of a female bodybuilder". I have enjoyed many novels in the past, yet few that I have actually read once, and the again immediately after. Sylvia allows the reader to look into the world of female bodybuilding like no one else before. Sylvia allows those of us, who are not as committed in becoming physically superior to live vicariously through her words and life. One can almost experience the life of an idol through her words. In addition to telling the story of her accomplishments on stage, she shares an in depth account of being a strong woman, protecting people with her strength and muscular physique. As well as allowing us into the bedroom escapades of an idol, whom all covet.

This book is a must read, and an inspiration to everyone who hope one day to be able to build a physique, fan base and aire of superiority that Sylvia has always had.
